Advanced applications of porous nanoceramics in medicine

Porous silica nanoparticles have long been used in fighting cancer as chemotherapeutic delivery agents owe to their excellent properties such as an exceptional surface area to volume ratio and fine-tunable surface chemistry. However, as drug delivery showed limited success in the cancer treatment, new medical strategies are highlighted like the CRISPR gene editing and the immunotherapy. This presentation shows how our group is using the nanotechnology, specifically, the lipid-coated mesoporous silica nanoparticles in order to advance these hot biomedical aspects.
